When I first arrived to photograph Faye at home with her three dear little dogs I wondered how I was ever going to tell them apart. I mean, they are all the same breed and the same colour. But just like people, Bichon Frise do not all look the same.
In the beginning their different collars were the only way I could distinguish them from each other but the more time I spent with them the more their individual features and personalities became clear to me.
Jimbo, the oldest at 15, has much finer features with a pointier nose. He loves nothing more than curling up on the pillow on the bed soaking up the sun streaming through the north facing window. Indeed he took a bit of coaxing from time to time to lift his head off the pillow and join in the activities. When he did engage with me he was just a little dream.
Inquisitive Harry doesn’t like to miss a thing and observed my every movement. He likes to know what is going on and is curious to know the contents within every bag or box left on the floor. He also has a very gentle, loving nature and loves to share loving, intimate moments with Faye. His interaction with his mum caused many “melt my heart moments”.
The girl in the family is Lily who is incredibly cute with her one ear up and the other down. Interestingly she looks more delicate and pretty than her brothers. I love this photo of her on the floral chair, feminine chair. It seems so perfect for her.
They are the most delightful little companions and bring great joy to the household they inhabit.
