Hollywood comes to Melbourne - Pet Photography

Lesley O'Donnell - Wednesday, July 30, 2014

As his name would suggest, Hollywood is a fortunate pooch.

He lives a privileged lifestyle with his devoted mum Jennie in a glamorous apartment that enjoys sweeping views over the Melbourne city skyline.

Everyone who meets this attractive honey-coloured Cavoodle with his white trimmings is immediately drawn to him. This suits Hollywood well as he laps up all the affection and attention bestowed upon him.

Adored by Jennie’s friends, family and work colleagues he is also popular at his local dog park. There he is always greeted enthusiastically by his fellow hounds and their families. Still a puppy, he exerts boundless energy running around at the speed of a lightning bolt during his playtime. However, there always comes a point when he sits in front of Jennie exhausted from all his activity and looks up at her with pleading eyes to take him home for a little catch-up snooze.

However, this adorable little personality is no lay-a-bout and goes to work everyday. There he has an important role; meeting and greeting guests at Birches Serviced Apartments in East Melbourne. This accommodation is pet friendly so it is fitting that Hollywood is the company director and can show the visiting dogs how to behave appropriately while staying over.

This is a great spot to stay if you want a weekend in the city with your own beloved cat or dog. Be sure to say that Lesley from Pet Shots Photography recommended Birches to you and that you would love to meet Hollywood.

Holidaying With Dogs

Minti having fun as all labs love to do

I am excited as the publication "Holidaying with Dogs" just selected this photo of mine to grace the back cover of it's 11th issue. It's at the printers now and is due for release on 19th November.

I took these photos while staying at the Cape Otway Cottages in Victoria. You can stay there with or without your dogs in private cottages scattered amongst the bush and farmland. They are gorgeous and I loved every minute I spent there. So peaceful and a world away from the busy-ness of my inner city life. Minti and Aster are lucky enough to live there full time although they are soon moving to Robe where they have a new holiday house called Windsong. This photo of them together was featured in the Windsong ad in "Holidaying with Dogs".

Lovely dogs but what great photography! Am glad that you were able to have the chance to get these great shots, not easy with animals as they keep moving all the time. I know you have a great camera but you still have to be able to get the photo at the right moment. Lucky them.

Rest In Peace Poncho

Lesley O'Donnell - Thursday, September 02, 2010

Poncho, a handsome Maltese Bichon with a beautiful pink nose and attractive tinges of pink throughout his coat, was a delightful, devoted dog who enjoyed a full and social time. He lived a life of luxury in a penthouse apartment in an inner Melbourne suburb. Sadly at the grand old age of 15 1/2 years he died on Friday night in the arms of his adoring owner Jennie.

He was a friendly personality and liked to spend his days greeting canine guests who stayed with their owners at the pet friendly Birches Apartments in East Melbourne. www.birches.com.au

I met him in May 2008 and had great fun taking his photos first at his penthouse with the city in the background and then at the beautiful Fitzroy Gardens with its glorious autumnal colour. He was a delightful character and he enriched the lives of many. May he rest in peace and live on in the memories of these photos.

What a lovely little dog and I am sure he gave his owner much joy. She is lucky to have this lovely photo as a remembrance, just taken in time.
