Bello Bella

Bella keeping Caitlin within paws reach during her photography session

Caitlin first booked me to photograph her with her beautiful English Springer Spaniel Bella back in July. We carefully planned to take the photos at the beach. However each day we arranged the shoot we were met with inclement weather. Infact we had to postpone the date four times. Most frustrating all round but we weren’t intending photos of a wet bedraggled dog. Maybe a couple at the end if she leapt into the bay but certainly not a whole collection of them.

Last Saturday we were again scheduled to head for the beach but, if you recall, Melbourne was beset with a miserable wet day. I thought we would have to put the photography forward to a future date yet again. However Caitlin decided she didn’t want to wait any longer as she is eager to redecorate her room around the photos.

So I found a sheltered, dry location that, as it turned out, perfectly suited Bella’s colouring. A completely different look to what we first discussed and planned but one that I think worked out to be just perfect.

Caitlin and Bella are participants in the limited edition coffee table book Pet Shots is currently working on to raise money for Animal Aid. If you would like to be part of this project please go to the registration form.

There's my gorgeous baby! An absolutely fantastic morning! I was worried I would find the whole thing pretty stressful- (As they say never work with animals and children and I'm convinced Bella is a hybrid of both!)but Lesley was totally relaxed from the start and that helped both Bella and I calm down and just have fun =)

Bella looks so contented and happy. Good work as she may not have liked the seaside so much! I wouldn't !!
